Thanksgiving Dinner Donations

We have confirmed the shelters that we will be bring Thanksgiving Holiday happiness to. With the help of local volunteers we will be delivering full dinners to shelters in Riverhead, Bay Shore and Kings Park as well as a 9/11 Family who currently resides in North Babylon.  In these shelters are the men and woman who have served our country and now need our helps.  They are members of our US Military from Marines, Army, Navy and Coast Guard.  They have allowed us to live with the Freedom’s many of us take for granted each and every day.  In Riverhead the shelter currently holds 14 Veterans, Kings Park currently houses 10 Veterans and Bay Shore currently houses 13 Veterans who we will be delivering their dinner to this holiday season.  Besides these shelters, we will also be delivering a full Thanksgiving dinner to a 9/11 Family. Currently, the head of household and breadwinner for the family, the father, is battling Stage 4 Cancer, while the mother is taking care of his 79 year old mother, two children ages 6 and 8, trying to take care of herself in between trips back and forth for cancer treatments.  Due to the privacy of the locations of the shelters, the family and the Veterans, we will only be posting photos of the donations being delivered and dinner set up on the tables.  It’s foundations like Ski’s Open Heart Foundations and their leaders, with the help of people like you who have donated to the mission that we can say THANK YOU to these men and woman.  Remember, just because you may have more than someone else, there is always someone who fought for you to have the things that you have, so if you see a man or woman in the street wearing a hat, pin, jacket, etc from our armed forces, take a second and say THANK YOU to them.  To donate to the mission please go to http://skisopenheart.com/donations-and-sponsors/make-a-donation/ and make a donation.  In the memo portion, write Thanksgiving dinners and all money will go directly to the dinners.
